An ambulance crew was attacked while responding to a call in Pavlodar, the regional health department reported. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

The incident occurred on June 10 in the courtyard of house No. 89 on Nazarbayev Street. At 14:57, a passerby called the ambulance dispatch center, reporting that an unknown man was lying on the ground.

The crew arrived at the scene in 9 minutes. When medics tried to assist the man, he became aggressive, threatened the crew with a knife, and attacked them. He punched the driver and then entered the ambulance cabin. He broke ampoules of medication, threw out the medical kit, and vandalized the vehicle, the department said.

Police were called to the scene. The injured medics filed a complaint with law enforcement. Police opened a criminal case regarding the attack on the ambulance crew. The man was detained and placed in a specialized medical facility, the Pavlodar Regional Police Department reported.
