In Pavlodar region, water resources under state protection were nearly illegally transferred into private ownership, the Prosecutor General's Office reported. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

The prosecutor's office of Aktogay district prevented an attempt to illegally transfer agricultural land plots containing water bodies and water protection zones.

During the inspection, it was found that three land plots containing fresh and salt lakes, as well as water bodies used for salt extraction, were put up for tender. However, when preparing the tender documentation, the state body failed to comply with the mandatory requirements of the Water Code, which provide for special procedures and necessary approvals.

"As a result, an attempt was made to provide interested parties with access not only to the land plots but also to water resources with a total area of over 60 hectares, which are of particular importance and under state protection," the statement said.

By the act of prosecutorial supervision, the results of the illegal tender were canceled, and the identified violations were eliminated. State interests in the field of rational use of natural resources were protected. For the violations committed, the guilty officials were brought to disciplinary responsibility.
