A court verdict has been issued in Pavlodar over the 'Khas' financial pyramid. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to the Prosecutor General's Office, the pyramid organizers promised depositors returns of up to 70%. In 2022-2023, a native of the North Kazakhstan region formed a criminal group in Astana and Pavlodar region, attracting money from residents of the capital, Almaty, Pavlodar, Ekibastuz, and other cities.
"Trusting promises of high income, 376 citizens invested more than 2 billion tenge in the financial pyramid. The group's organizer was deprived of liberty, and other participants received various sentences," the prosecutor's office reported.
Criminally obtained property was confiscated, including land plots and apartments in Astana and Pavlodar, 18 cars, and more than 300 million tenge.
The verdict has entered into legal force. However, efforts to protect the rights of victims did not stop there. During further investigation, 139 more victims were identified, with damages amounting to 882,854,500 tenge.
An investigation was conducted into the newly discovered circumstances, and necessary evidence was collected. The criminal case was later sent to court.
As a result of the measures taken, the rights of 515 citizens who suffered losses totaling approximately 3 billion tenge were protected. Some of them have been compensated for the damage.
