Six students fell ill at one of the schools in Pavlodar. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to the regional education department, the incident occurred on 12 October. An unpleasant smell was present in one of the classrooms.
"After the lesson, six students felt unwell. According to the results of the check, their condition was assessed as satisfactory," the education department said.
The school administration conducted an internal investigation, and based on its results, disciplinary measures were applied to the responsible employees.
According to the regional health department, the students were not hospitalized. "On 12 October, three children were brought to the Pavlodar Regional Children's Hospital with suspected poisoning from an unpleasant smell. All of them were examined by the on-duty pediatrician. Since there were no medical indications for hospitalization, the children were sent for outpatient treatment. Their parents were given the necessary recommendations," doctors said.
Recall that earlier, 48 students were poisoned by food and hospitalized at the Republican Physics and Mathematics School in Almaty. Police opened a criminal case over the incident. The Committee for Sanitary and Epidemiological Control also reported that sanitary requirements were not observed at that school.
