Governor of Pavlodar Region Asain Baikhanov went live from the central beach of the city and bathed in the Irtysh River during the broadcast. He thus responded to information circulating online about the river water being polluted. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

"Our central beach, many people are spending their leisure time here. Some people say the Irtysh water is not clean, I read comments. The Irtysh current is very strong, 32 billion cubic meters of water pass through per year. Basically, the river's source is in the mountains of Mongolia and East Kazakhstan, the water comes from melting snow. In the live stream on social media, Asain Baikhanov himself entered the river and showed the purity. Due to the strong current, the water is clean. We frequently conduct water analysis," said the governor of Pavlodar Region.

The governor even dived headfirst into the water. He also scooped river water into his palm and submerged his mobile phone in the water.
