A Sony PlayStation gaming console, 15 smartphones and six Wi-Fi routers were found at one of the penal system facilities in the Pavlodar region. A pre-trial investigation has been launched over the discovery of prohibited items under the article on negligence, the regional prosecutor's office said. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
What was found during the inspection
The items were discovered in one of the premises during a prosecutor's inspection of regime compliance and the identification of channels for the delivery of prohibited items. In addition to the phones, routers and console, wireless and wired headphones, USB cables, flash cards and other items that convicts are prohibited from storing and using were seized.
PlayStation 4 and Mortal Kombat X
According to Halyqstan, the photograph provided by the prosecutor's office to the editorial team shows a PlayStation 4, with two gamepads and a disc with the game Mortal Kombat X next to it.
Legal assessment
The prosecutor's office registered a pre-trial investigation under Article 371 of the Criminal Code of Kazakhstan — "Negligence." The investigation is establishing how the prohibited items got into the restricted facility, through which channels they were brought in and who may be involved.
Other information is not disclosed in the interests of the investigation in accordance with Article 201 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Kazakhstan.
