Strong wind and rain damaged houses and power lines in the village of Konyrozek, Uspen district, Pavlodar region, leaving part of the settlement without electricity. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
According to local residents, before the storm they noticed a vortex resembling a small whirlwind. "It looked like a tornado," villagers said.
Due to strong gusts of wind, roofs were torn off houses, trees were uprooted, and electrical and telephone wires were broken. Some residents lost fences and gates, and light structures were lifted into the air. One villager's frame pool was carried away.
During the storm, one woman was bruised while trying to close the door of her house. According to local authorities, there are no seriously injured.
The akimat of Konyrozek rural district confirmed that the bad weather affected only part of the village. "The wind passed in a strip, it did not affect the entire village. We are now assessing the damage, we are all here — the emergency department, district leadership. We are taking measures, we will try to restore electricity as soon as possible," said Aitolkyn Kairova, akim of the rural district.
According to her, in addition to residential buildings, the local House of Culture was also damaged — about 30% of the roof was damaged.
Currently, specialists are assessing the damage and continuing restoration work.
