More than 280 cases of fake employment of convicts have been uncovered in the Pavlodar region. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The prosecutor's office of the Pavlodar region identified cases of artificially inflating employment figures for convicts. An analysis revealed that the reporting included convicts who did not actually work and with whom no employment contracts had been concluded.
"According to the reporting data, one of the institutions of the penal correction system indicated that out of 855 able-bodied convicts, 494 were employed. At the same time, a check of data on pension contributions and social payments confirmed the employment of only 205 convicts in reality," the statement said.
Thus, 289 people were not actually employed, and the employment rate was overstated by 2.5 times. It was established that the fake employment of these convicts was processed by an order of the "Yenbek-Pavlodar" branch.
In addition, the prosecutor's office noted that improper organization of work on the employment of convicts caused the identified violations. Based on the results of reviewing the submission, the guilty officials were brought to disciplinary responsibility.
