27 people with dual citizenship have been identified in Pavlodar region. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, dual citizenship is not allowed in the country. That is, a citizen of Kazakhstan cannot simultaneously be a citizen of another state. If a citizen of Kazakhstan acquires citizenship of another state, Kazakh citizenship is terminated in accordance with the procedure established by law.
According to Alexander Kuzmenko, head of the migration service department of the regional police, since the beginning of the year, 398 citizens in Pavlodar region have lost citizenship of the Republic of Kazakhstan. 40 citizens were brought to administrative responsibility for various violations of migration legislation, seven of them were expelled from the country.
For example, a 26-year-old woman, who has been a citizen of a neighboring country since 2015, did not inform the police about this. Another 29-year-old woman, despite obtaining citizenship of a neighboring country, crossed the state border using a passport of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The women were brought to administrative responsibility for violating the legislation on citizenship of Kazakhstan. This article provides for liability in the form of a fine of 432,250 tenge or expulsion from the country. For the use of documents of this country by persons who have lost citizenship of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a fine of 200 MCI, i.e. 865 thousand tenge, is provided, said the head of the regional migration service.
