Rescuers evacuated tourists from an uncontrollable catamaran during a storm on Lake Zhasybai in Pavlodar region. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
Due to a sharp deterioration in weather, rain, strong winds and high waves, the catamaran began to drift chaotically across the lake.
"In the recreation area of Bayanaul district, Pavlodar region, during patrolling of the water area, rescuers came to the aid of vacationers," the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.
Rescuers quickly evacuated people and delivered them to the shore. The tourists did not need medical assistance.
Beach season raids
Since the beginning of the beach season, rescuers from the Ministry of Emergency Situations have begun mass raids on water bodies in Kazakhstan. In addition to the usual methods, now vacationers will be monitored by drones with a loudspeaker function and cameras with artificial intelligence.
"Talking" drones are sent primarily to where the most people gather. Rescuers launch drones directly over recreation areas: they broadcast safety rules and loudly warn people about risks from the air.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that two people were rescued on the Caspian Sea in Aktau.
