Pakistan has declared its readiness to ensure transit of Kazakhstan's cargo through the ports of Karachi, Qasim, and Gwadar. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The issue was discussed by Kazakhstan's Ambassador Yerzhan Kistafin and Pakistan's Minister of Maritime Affairs Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry. Islamabad also proposed developing joint projects in free economic zones and cooperation in ports, shipping, and trade facilitation.
According to the minister, Pakistan's ports could become a transit hub for Kazakhstan and other Central Asian countries. This would provide access to the markets of the Persian Gulf, Africa, and Southeast Asia.
