President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev believes that the role of Central Asia in global processes is steadily increasing, and the region's voice on the world stage is becoming clearer and more weighty. He stated this at an informal consultative meeting of heads of state of Central Asia and Azerbaijan, as reported by Akorda. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
Tokayev cited as a vivid example the election of Kyrgyzstan as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council (for 2027-2028). He congratulated President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov and the entire Kyrgyz people on this historic achievement.
The head of state noted that all key issues of interaction were discussed in detail at the meeting in Tashkent last year. The initiatives voiced then, including the institutional development of Consultative Meetings, remain relevant, and joint work is needed to implement them.
Kazakhstan is committed to the agreements reached and intends to further promote constructive initiatives aimed at strengthening friendship, good neighborliness, and strategic partnership between countries. Tokayev expressed confidence that through joint efforts, even higher peaks will be conquered on the path of common progress.
The President thanked President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov for the traditionally warm welcome and the initiative to hold the informal meeting. He emphasized that the Kyrgyz people are a fraternal nation for the Kazakh people, and they are all one kindred people.
The head of state noted that the friendship, trust, kinship, and mutual support established between them are a sacred covenant from ancestors and an eternal value. He stated that Kazakhstan is currently witnessing the dynamic development of Kyrgyzstan and sincerely rejoices at every achievement, and the prosperity of Kyrgyzstan is an important guarantee of stability and sustainable development of Central Asia.
