Kazakhstan
In Kazakhstan, the minimum basic paid leave is 24 calendar days. In a five-day working week, Saturdays and Sundays falling within the leave period are included in the leave duration, but leave pay is calculated based on working days.
In 2025, there were on average 26.4 leave person-days per hired employee in Kazakhstan. This figure includes additional paid leaves.
It should be noted that for some professions, the leave duration is significantly longer than the basic 24 calendar days. For example, teachers have an annual paid leave of 56 calendar days.
Additionally, employees working in harmful and other unfavorable working conditions are granted extra leave. In 2025, 559.1 thousand workers took advantage of this benefit.
Kyrgyzstan
In Kyrgyzstan, the minimum annual paid leave is 28 calendar days. Saturdays and Sundays falling within the leave period are also counted and paid.
Tajikistan
In Tajikistan, the basic leave is 24 calendar days. Similar to Kazakhstan, the leave duration is 24 days, but the difference is that in a five-day working week, Saturdays and Sundays falling within the leave are also paid.
Turkmenistan
In Turkmenistan, the minimum annual leave is 30 calendar days. This is the highest indicator in Central Asia. In a five-day working week, weekends falling within the leave are also paid.
Uzbekistan
In Uzbekistan, the minimum leave is 21 calendar days. Saturdays and Sundays are included in the leave period. However, since February 2025, Sundays are not counted when calculating leave pay, while Saturdays are paid.
