Iran has conveyed seven conditions to the US through intermediaries for reopening the Strait of Hormuz, according to the Tasnim agency. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
According to the publication, the southern route through the strait is closed despite Washington's insistence on its reopening. In addition, it has become known that Iran and Oman have agreed on the details of new routes in the strait.
The basis for these demands was the principles previously formulated by Iran's Security Council. The list of Tehran's key conditions includes the following points:
Iranian representatives particularly emphasized that the recent agreement with Oman on creating a joint route and a temporary corridor is only a partial solution and does not mean the automatic opening of the strait. A full resumption of shipping now depends entirely on Washington's readiness to make concessions and fulfill Iranian demands.
On September 6, the secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of the Islamic Republic, Mohsen Rezaei, announced that the Strait of Hormuz is completely closed to shipping.
