Shymkent's Ordabasy has won the Kazakhstan football championship for the second time in its history. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

The fate of the championship title was decided on October 25 after the match of the 29th round of the Kazakhstan Premier League. Kairat drew 2-2 with Aktobe and lost its last chances to catch up with the leader.

With one round left before the end of the championship, Ordabasy has 68 points, while Kairat has 64. Even a victory in the final match will no longer allow the Almaty team to close the four-point gap.

For the Shymkent club, this is the second championship title in its history. Ordabasy first won gold in 2023. In the next two seasons, Kairat became champion.

Notably, Ordabasy regained the championship title in its first season after transitioning to private ownership. In August 2026, the club completed its transfer under the management of businessman Shakhurat Mutalip, owner of Integra Construction KZ. At the same time, Darkhan Kyzaibayev, who had previously served as club president, was appointed chairman of the board of directors. Zhasulan Barmankulov became the new president.

Thus, the team won gold already in its first year under the new leadership.

Kairat will finish the current season with silver medals. The fight for third place continues between the capital's Astana and Kokshetau's Okzhetpes.

In the final round on October 31, Ordabasy will play away against Pavlodar's Irtysh. The result of the match will no longer affect the championship of the Shymkent team.
