Shymkent's football club Ordabasy has won the 2026 Kazakhstan championship. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
Ordabasy secured the gold medals after Almaty's Kairat and Aktobe played a draw. On 25 October, at the Central Stadium in Aktobe, the teams Aktobe and Kairat met, and the match ended in a 2-2 draw. This draw deprived the Almaty club of the chance to win the championship.
With one round remaining, Kairat had 64 points, while Ordabasy had 68 points. Thus, the Shymkent football club secured the championship title ahead of schedule. Notably, Ordabasy has now become Kazakhstan champion for the second time.
The Shymkent team first won the Kazakhstan championship in 2023.
Kairat had won in the previous two seasons.
