Ordabasy goalkeeper Bekhan Shaizada spoke about the victory over Elimai in the 18th round of the Kazakhstan Premier League. After the match, the goalkeeper noted that the fight for the championship does not allow the team to relax even after important wins. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
"Every game is difficult for us because when it comes to the title race, the cost of a mistake is very high. So now every match is like a final. As for the newcomers, I think they are already contributing with accurate passes and goals. Elimai played in European competitions, so I think they were seriously prepared for us. Ahead is a game with Kairat, and we will be focused on victory," Shaizada said in an interview with Sports24.kz.
Yesterday, the Shymkent club defeated the Semey team 3-1 and returned to first place in the standings, once again overtaking Kairat. Goals for Ordabasy were scored by Bjorn Johnsen, Guy-Marcelin Kilama, and Elkhan Astanov, who converted a penalty.
The day before, Kairat temporarily rose to the top spot after a win over Atyrau. The match took place in Turkistan and ended 3-1 in favor of the Almaty side. For Kairat, Edmilson scored a brace, and another goal came from an own goal by Franjo Prce.
In the next round, Ordabasy will play away against Kairat. The meeting in Almaty could directly affect the distribution of places in the upper part of the KPL table.
