Kazakhstan Premier League leaders Ordabasy defeated Altai 3-1 at home in the first leg of the Kazakhstan Cup semi-final. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
The match took place at the Kazhymukan Stadium in Shymkent in sweltering heat of +34°C. All goals were scored by foreign players. Brazilian midfielder Leo Natel opened the scoring in the 22nd minute (1-0). Just before halftime, Norwegian Bjorn Johnsen, a regular scorer in the KPL, doubled the lead (2-0).
In the 53rd minute, Cameroonian Guy-Marcelin Kilama made it 3-0. In stoppage time, Belarusian forward Dmitry Podstrelov pulled one back for the visitors (3-1).
The return leg of this semi-final will be played on August 19. On the same day, the second semi-final second leg between Zhenis and Kaisar will take place in Astana. The first leg between them is scheduled for July 29 in Kyzylorda.
