A case of so-called 'gray' certification of frozen meat-containing semi-finished products has been revealed in Uralsk. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
According to the Ministry of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan, the products had a declaration of conformity with EAEU requirements, but the basis for its issuance turned out to be fictitious.
After a control purchase, specialists from the Department of the Committee for Technical Regulation and Metrology for the West Kazakhstan region checked the documents.
"The products were accompanied by an EAEU conformity declaration issued by a certification body of the Republic of Belarus. During the study of conformity assessment materials, it was established that the declaration was adopted on the basis of a test report allegedly issued by an accredited testing laboratory in Almaty. The laboratory itself confirmed that the products were not tested and such a report was not issued," the department said.
As a result, the declaration was canceled in Kazakhstan. The manufacturer was brought to administrative responsibility. The department noted that the presence of a document in the register does not mean that the products actually passed the necessary tests.
