A 21-year-old Kazakh citizen has been arrested in South Korea. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

According to local media, the incident occurred on July 29 in the city of Incheon. Two young men caught up with another vehicle and threatened the people inside. They blocked the car and endangered the passengers.

The incident was captured on surveillance cameras. Korean police searched for the suspects for three months. It was difficult to identify the car's license plate in the dark. Later, specialists identified part of the plate and found one of the suspects through an advertisement for selling the car posted on social media.

The suspect turned out to be a 21-year-old Kazakh citizen working in South Korea. Two days later, the court, considering that he might flee, authorized his arrest.

During questioning, the Kazakh citizen said the incident arose from a misunderstanding. According to him, he had previously intended to sell his car to a foreign citizen, but the deal did not go through. Therefore, he claimed he confused the victim's car with the buyer's vehicle.

The second suspect is a 25-year-old Kazakh citizen. He had previously been deported from South Korea for violating migration laws. This was reported in information published on social media.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan confirmed the incident. "The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan is aware of the detention of a Kazakh citizen by the police of the city of Incheon. Our compatriot is charged with a number of offenses, including damage to another person's property, violation of the migration regime, and violation of vehicle operation rules," the ministry said.

According to the ministry, Kazakh diplomats are keeping the case under control and providing consular and legal assistance to the detained citizen.
