President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev sent a congratulatory message to President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
In his letter, Mirziyoyev wrote that this historic event marks the beginning of a new stage in improving Kazakhstan's political system, increasing the efficiency of state governance, and significantly strengthening the role of parliament.
According to Sherzod Asadov, press secretary of the President of Uzbekistan, Mirziyoyev expressed sincere joy at the excellent results of the large-scale changes taking place on the land of the fraternal Kazakh people, with whom Uzbekistan has shared centuries of friendship and good neighborliness.
He also expressed confidence that close cooperation between the parliaments of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan will rise to a new qualitative level in the spirit of strategic partnership and allied relations between the two friendly countries.
Earlier, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev congratulated Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on the successful holding of the first Kurultai elections.
