A teenager who took a job to earn money lost his hand in Ust-Kamenogorsk. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The injured teenager was working illegally at a company producing building materials. No employment contract was concluded with him. He was not instructed on safety rules.
The city police have initiated a pre-trial investigation under Article 156, paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code (violation of labor protection rules that negligently caused serious harm to health). The circumstances of the incident will be determined during the investigation.
It is noted that this article provides for a fine of up to 200 MCI (865,000 tenge), or correctional labor in the same amount, or community service for up to 200 hours, or arrest for up to 50 days.
