The search for a 44-year-old man who jumped from a bridge over the Irtysh on July 20 has ended. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
According to the Emergency Situations Department of the East Kazakhstan Region, the man's body was found about 21 km from the scene, in one of the branches of the Irtysh near the village of Praporshchikovo.
The department reported that the search continued daily. Rescuers examined the water area and coastal territory using watercraft and drones.
During the operation, divers made 26 dives underwater.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that in New York, a 44-year-old man climbed onto the Brooklyn Bridge, hung several flags, including the flag of Kazakhstan, and then jumped into the East River. Police officers pulled him out of the water and took him to a hospital, where his condition was assessed as stable. The man's identity was not officially disclosed, and he had no documents with him.
