This year, for the first time, journalists working in the regions will receive apartment keys. President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev announced this in a speech at a ceremony honoring media workers. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
"The state always supports media workers and pays special attention to improving their social conditions. As you all know, the tradition of presenting apartment keys to the journalistic community on the eve of the professional holiday has become a good tradition. Over the past three years, only in Astana, 200 journalists have received housing," the president said.
The head of state noted that the scope of this initiative is now planned to be expanded. "I believe that the work of regional journalists who broadcast quality news and work diligently should not be overlooked. Therefore, on my instructions, this year for the first time, journalists working in the regions will also receive apartment keys. In total, this year, 66 information sector workers across the country will be provided with housing. I congratulate you all!" said Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
