Kazakhstan Railways is introducing a separate carriage for women on the Talgo train on the Nurly Zhol – Oral route. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

The new carriage will start serving passengers from August 1, 2026. This measure is taken to enhance the safety and comfort of female passengers. Only women will be allowed in the carriage; men are prohibited from entering.

The train operates daily on this route. The women-only carriage will be located in the middle part of the train. When purchasing tickets, passengers must indicate their gender to obtain a ticket for the women's carriage.

Kazakhstan Railways is implementing this initiative based on passenger demand. A preliminary survey showed that the majority of women prefer to travel in a separate carriage.

Ticket prices will not change; tickets for the women's carriage are sold at the standard tariff. The carriage is equipped with all necessary amenities: air conditioning, toilet, charging devices, and other comforts.

This is not the first women-only carriage in Kazakhstan's railway service. Previously, such carriages were introduced on the Astana – Almaty route. The company plans to introduce women's carriages on other routes in the future.
