The operation period of the 'Nurly Zhol – Arkalyk' train has been extended until the end of the year. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to Kazakhstan Railways, the decision was made taking into account passenger demand.
"In order to increase the accessibility of railway communication for residents of Akmola and Kostanay regions and create comfortable conditions for travel, JSC 'Zholaushylar tasymaldy' decided to extend the operation period of passenger train No. 225/226 'Nurly Zhol – Arkalyk' until the end of 2026," the statement said.
Train No. 225/226 'Nurly Zhol – Arkalyk' was initially launched in test mode until the end of August to study passenger flow. Another feature of the route is the launch of satellite internet on the train using Starlink technology.
The convenient train schedule allows passengers to comfortably plan trips between regions. The train runs every other day.
Along the route, the train stops at Nurly Zhol, Zhaltyr, Atbasar, Zhaksy, Esil, Derzhavinsk, Arkalyk and other stations.
