Akim of Mangystau region Nurdaulet Kilybay responded to social media users who criticized him for specially welcoming world-famous actor Jackie Chan at the airport. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to the akim, work was carried out for several months to attract Jackie Chan to Mangystau. "We worked for three or four months and brought him to Mangystau. If it were up to me, I would welcome even their dogs if they would develop Mangystau, positively impact its economy, and show Mangystau on the world stage," said Nurdaulet Kilybay.
According to the akim, the arrival of such famous personalities to the region allows demonstrating the tourist and investment potential of Mangystau.
