A 27-year-old woman has been charged over the shooting of a police officer in Nottingham. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing The Guardian.
Aisha Zaman, from the Hyson Green area of the city, has been charged with possession of a prohibited firearm and possession of that firearm with intent to commit an indictable offence.
The incident occurred at 4:50am on Sunday. The officer was approaching two suspects when he was hit by a bullet. He remains in hospital receiving treatment.
A weapon was recovered and a large crime scene cordon was put in place around Angel Row in the heart of the city.
Nottinghamshire police said the investigation is ongoing. No further details have been released at this time.
The incident has caused concern among city residents. Police representatives said additional information about the investigation will be provided later.
