Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre has demanded that the Financial Times correct an article about his telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
This was reported by the Norwegian publication VG. In a piece published on 27 October, the Financial Times wrote that Putin spent most of his phone call with the leaders of Norway and Finland "lecturing on medieval Slavic history." According to Støre, this information does not correspond to reality.
According to him, Putin spoke about the situation in Europe after 2014. "This is incorrect information. We asked the Financial Times to correct the article because it does not correspond to reality," the head of the Norwegian government said. According to Støre, during the conversation Putin discussed the situation in Europe after 2014.
The leaders of Norway and Finland asked the Financial Times to correct the article. However, the newspaper, insisting on the accuracy of the published information, refused to change the article.
