Former Kenyan Nora Jeruto brought Kazakhstan a silver medal at the 2026 Asian Games in the 3000m steeplechase. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

From the first meters of the distance, Jeruto, having taken the lead, set a very high pace. The gauntlet thrown down by the Kazakhstani was picked up by Winfred Yavi of Bahrain and Parul Chaudhary of India. They contested the medals at the finish.

In the end, Yavi won gold with a Games record. Jeruto finished second with her season's best result. And Chaudhary took bronze with a personal record.
