Netflix has acquired the rights to new seasons of the animated series 'Masha and the Bear', one of the most popular children's projects in the world. Under the new agreement, the streaming service will show the eighth and ninth seasons of the show in more than 100 countries. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

In addition, the company extended licenses for previous seasons, as well as spin-offs 'Masha's Tales' and 'Masha's Spooky Stories'.

Netflix's decision is linked to the continued popularity of the animated series among preschool children. Over the years, 'Masha and the Bear' has garnered billions of views on YouTube, and the project's official channel now has over 55 million subscribers.

The creators have already revealed some details of the new episodes. In upcoming episodes, Masha will go to kindergarten for the first time and will also meet a yeti family during a new winter adventure.

The new contract covers more than 100 countries, including the USA, Canada, India, Japan, South Korea, and European states.

Earlier, Kursiv LifeStyle reported that Netflix would broadcast a Formula 1 race live for the first time.
