The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has reported that it is monitoring the situation of Kazakh citizens remaining in the natural disaster zone in Nepal and Tibet. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

According to the Nepalese side, the search and rescue operation on the territory of Nepal officially concluded on October 5.

Currently, restoration work is underway in the affected areas, during which the identity of discovered bodies and personal belongings is being established. In addition, search operations continue in the most affected Gyirong County of the Tibet Autonomous Region of the PRC.

The Chinese side is also carrying out work on the identification of bodies and genetic expertise.

Earlier, three tourists from Kazakhstan were considered missing. Contact was established with one of them, who was believed to possibly be in Nepal and was on the list of missing persons. It was determined that he had refused the trip to the natural disaster zone. He is currently in Kazakhstan.

The whereabouts of the remaining two of our compatriots have not yet been established.

"Their relatives have undergone the necessary procedures for identification, including submitting biological material for DNA analysis in accordance with the procedure established by the competent authorities of Nepal and the PRC," the ministry reported.

Kazakh diplomats are in contact with the families of the missing persons and are providing them with the necessary support, the agency said.
