In 2025, the International University of Information Technologies (IUIT) reduced its net profit by 500 million tenge compared to the previous year, to 1.2 billion tenge. This is due to expenses on loans received from shareholders. The main owner of the university is the educational foundation of Nursultan Nazarbayev. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

The IT university's profit for 2025 amounted to 1.19 billion tenge. Compared to the previous year, it decreased by 30%, or 507 million tenge. At the same time, the university's revenue from educational and research activities increased by 4.8% to 7.4 billion tenge.

The most significant income for the university came from bachelor's students – 6.3 billion tenge (up 5.6%). Master's students accounted for 126 million tenge, and doctoral students for 123 million tenge.

At the same time, the cost of educational services provided amounted to 4.87 billion tenge. Compared to the previous year, it increased by 11.7%, or 508 million tenge. Administrative expenses increased by 251 million tenge to 1.4 billion.

However, the biggest blow to IUIT's final profit came from financing expenses. They amounted to 600 million tenge and more than doubled over the year. The main part of these expenses was the amortization of discount on loans received by the university.

In 2024, IUIT received interest-free unsecured loans for five years from its shareholders totaling more than 5.86 billion tenge. The university used these funds to buy buildings in Almaty at the addresses: Abay Avenue, 52v – the Bayzak business center, where the IUIT language department is located, and Abay Avenue, 52g, where the Innovative Technical College is located.

In 2025, the university early repaid loans to shareholders – individuals – in the amount of 176.7 million tenge. IUIT also partially repaid a loan to its main shareholder, the Nursultan Nazarbayev Educational Foundation, in the amount of 2.6 billion tenge.

According to the reporting, the main shareholder of IUIT is the Nursultan Nazarbayev Educational Foundation, or the Nursultan Nazarbayev Education Fund, associated with the first president of Kazakhstan, which owns 85% of shares. Another 10% belongs to Madina Bekturganova, the wife of Kuanyshbek Yessekeyev, former head of Kazakhtelecom, and 5% is owned by Baurzhan Sagadiyev.

Earlier it was reported that in 2025, the board of the International University of Information Technologies (IUIT) received a total of 147.4 million tenge – 44.6% less than a year earlier.
