Nazarbayev offers condolences over tragedy in Mangystau region

First President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev expressed condolences to the families and loved ones of the deceased in connection with the tragedy in the Mangystau region. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

According to a statement from the ex-president's press service: "Nursultan Nazarbayev received with great shock the news of the death of Armed Forces servicemen during military exercises in the Mangystau region. The First President, sharing the irreparable grief, expressed condolences to the families and loved ones of the deceased."

Tragedy in the Mangystau region

Recall that during exercises in the Mangystau region, a sea wave swept away 17 servicemen. Of them, 12 died and three were rescued. The search for two more servicemen continues.
