The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan has summarized the results of its work on combating drug trafficking for the first ten days of July. Over 10 days, the agency seized large batches of prohibited substances and precursors from circulation, and also made arrests in the capital. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
In the capital, police detained a 26-year-old resident. During a search and inspection of his rented home, 227 packets of the synthetic drug alpha-PVP weighing a total of 245 grams were seized, which he intended to sell to citizens.
In total, the Committee on Combating Drug Crime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs identified 187 drug offenses in the first ten days of July, including 86 criminal misdemeanors and 101 crimes. During this time, the following were suppressed:
- 011 drug laboratory;
- 027 drug cultivation sites;
- 032 online drug stores;
- 041 Telegram bot for drug sales.
Overall, 760 kg of drugs (including more than 121 kg of synthetics) and 266 kg of precursors were removed from illegal circulation across the republic. The activities are carried out systematically as part of the operational preventive measure "Karasora-2026".
"The Ministry of Internal Affairs continues targeted work to ensure the life and health of citizens, as well as to prevent the involvement of young people in the drug environment," noted Deputy Chairman of the Committee Eldar Abdikenov.
The agency places special emphasis on anti-drug work among high school students and students during the holiday period. In the first ten days of July, 145 preventive events were held in the country, covering six thousand adolescents and young people.
