Information about the alleged possibility of changing the IIN is spreading on social networks. The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD) has officially refuted this information. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
Citizens have the right to change their full name and other personal data by contacting authorized bodies in accordance with legal requirements.
However, the MVD clarified: the IIN is assigned once and is not subject to change.
Changing one's full name or a leak of personal data is not grounds for assigning a new IIN.
Earlier, Kursiv wrote about how much a passport and identity card cost in Kazakhstan in 2026.
Thus, the information spread on social networks about changing the IIN does not correspond to reality. Citizens are advised to rely only on official sources.
