The trend of throwing parties where guests wear clothes they have nowhere else to wear has arrived in Kazakhstan. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

Most likely, these parties originated from ironic videos on Instagram and TikTok, where users showed themselves in ordinary clothes and then displayed an extravagant or very dressy item from their wardrobe. To 'walk it out', a special occasion is needed, and waiting for it can take months, if not years.

Around 2024-2025, such 'fashion shows' moved offline. The market has already adapted to them. On Etsy, a platform for handmade goods in the US, there are invitations for 'Nowhere to wear it party'.

On social media, Kazakhstani users shared a video of such a party. In it, young people pompously open doors to a room and parade in wedding dresses, work overalls, and even military uniforms. In the comments, users highly appreciated this format.

'I urgently need to organize such a party', 'Can I join you? I have a ton of such things', 'I opened my closet and there are half a closet of clothes I have nowhere to wear. I would probably come like a cabbage with all the rags I have nowhere to wear', wrote Kazakhstani users.

Earlier, Kursiv LifeStyle wrote about another trend among zoomers and millennials: routine parties. Friends engage in 'adult things' at them, but it's definitely not about intimacy.
