The next meeting of the headquarters for ensuring economic growth was held in Astana, the Ministry of National Economy reported. During the meeting, special attention was paid to the development of non-oil sectors that remain the main drivers of economic growth amid a temporary decline in oil production volumes. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
These include construction, manufacturing, trade, transport, and agriculture. High growth rates are maintained in the construction sector. Based on the results of seven months, it is planned to further increase the volume of construction work and maintain the pace of development of the industry. The highest growth is expected in the Ulytau, Abay, and Kyzylorda regions.
In manufacturing, an increase in production volume of 9.8% indicates steady growth. The main growth is provided by mechanical engineering (+23.2%), chemical industry (+19.0%), food production (+14.7%), and light industry (+89.2%).
Positive trends are also observed in the trade sector. According to the results of the first half of the year, trade turnover reached 36.2 trillion tenge. The real volume index in trade was 105.7%. For further development of the industry, regions were instructed to implement the Roadmap for Trade Development, which envisages the implementation of new investment projects.
Growth in the transport sector, despite an overall increase in transportation volumes, is constrained by a decline in oil and gas transportation. In this regard, Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of National Economy Serik Zhumangarin instructed to maximize the use of the country's transit potential, especially on railway and road routes.
Based on the results of seven months, sustainable growth is observed in the agricultural sector. It is also predicted that the production of food and beverages will increase. It is planned to maintain positive dynamics through an effective harvesting campaign, livestock development, and a record volume of concessional financing for the agro-industrial complex.
In this regard, special attention should be paid to bridges, crossings, main transport highways, and energy facilities financed from the republican budget, which will ensure long-term economic efficiency and are provided for in the system of regional standards. It is also important to prepare high-quality projects for healthcare and social facilities. Active development continues in the country, so the volume of projects being implemented should increase annually, the vice-premier noted.
