The Ministry of Finance explained the procedure for comparing property and income. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
Currently, within the Smart Data Finance system, data is collected from 80 information sources. This includes information about real estate, vehicles, land and other assets. Thus, it is possible to compare the property and income of every Kazakhstani citizen.
"Specific methodologies are enshrined in the Tax Code. Tax authorities can compare certain data. Therefore, if there are other sources of income, one can file a declaration and indicate that income. But if the difference between property and income is too large and, despite this, real estate and vehicles are purchased, questions arise. We can compare property and income and see this difference. This difference must be confirmed, and then the corresponding tax must be paid. Then the issue will be resolved," said Vice Minister of Finance Aset Turysov at a briefing in the government.
As for mobile transfers, there are restrictions. According to the law "On Banking Secrecy," information about mobile transfers is considered confidential. Therefore, tax authorities cannot see it in full.
"Only in some cases can we see information about transfers. And even then, complete data is not provided," the vice minister noted.
