First 'Avengers: Doomsday' Trailer Fails to Impress Fans

Marvel has finally released the first trailer for 'Avengers: Doomsday'. However, judging by fan reactions, the long years of waiting have not been fully justified. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

In the nearly three-minute clip, Marvel showed Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom for the first time — one of the most dangerous villains in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The trailer begins with a dire warning from Professor X, played by Patrick Stewart:

"Something is approaching. We may not be able to stop it. By the end of this day, we will have to make an unthinkable decision," the character says.

Thor, played by Chris Hemsworth, says that victory will require "a miracle." In the next shot, Steve Rogers appears, again portrayed by Chris Evans. The character has not been seen in the MCU since 'Avengers: Endgame' (2019).

Besides them, the trailer features Shang-Chi, Yelena Belova and the Thunderbolts team, Namor, Black Panthers, Gambit played by Channing Tatum, the Fantastic Four, Magneto played by Ian McKellen, and many other heroes.

One of the most discussed topics is Mystique, played by Rebecca Romijn. Some viewers believe the character's new look is too different from the comics, while others think it is too "bookish."

Another frequent complaint concerns visual effects. Despite the film's huge budget, many social media users called the graphics "soapy." Viewers were also confused by the number of characters. The trailer showed dozens of heroes from several teams at once. It is obvious that there will not be enough screen time for everyone, even if the film runs close to three hours.

It is possible that the studio is banking on its own "Barbenheimer." The premiere of 'Avengers: Doomsday' coincides with the release of the final part of Denis Villeneuve's 'Dune'. Both films will be released internationally on December 18, 2026.

Kazakhstanis may again have to wait longer than the global premiere. For instance, 'Spider-Man: New Day' is released in the country a week later than the rest of the world — on August 6, 2026.
