Mitsubishi has unveiled the ASX VR-e electric crossover, whose range-topping GSR version turned out to be more powerful than the most extreme production version of the Lancer Evolution. Two electric motors produce 459 hp, and the sprint to 100 km/h takes 3.9 seconds. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
The Mitsubishi ASX VR-e is built on the platform of the Taiwanese electric car Foxtron Bria, developed with the participation of Pininfarina. All versions are equipped with a 57.7 kWh battery.
Three trim levels and the top GSR
Three trim levels – LS, Aspire and Exceed – get a single electric motor on the rear axle producing 229 hp and rear-wheel drive. Acceleration to 100 km/h takes 6.8 seconds.
The top GSR is equipped with a second electric motor at the front and all-wheel drive. Combined output reaches 459 hp and 700 Nm. For comparison, the British special edition Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X FQ-440 MR produced 440 hp. The electric car surpasses it in power, although fans of the legendary Evo may not like this format.
Range and charging
Mitsubishi has not yet published range data. At the same time, fast DC charging supports power up to 134 kW, while AC charging supports up to 6.6 kW.
Inside, there is a central multimedia screen with a diagonal of 15.6 inches and a digital instrument panel measuring 9.2 inches. In the Exceed and GSR trim levels, there is a panoramic glass roof, a power tailgate and a 12-speaker audio system.
Market launch and warranty
The ASX VR-e will first appear in Australia. Prices will be announced later in 2026. The warranty on the car will be five years or 100,000 km, and with servicing at Mitsubishi dealers it can be extended to ten years or 200,000 km. The traction battery has a separate warranty of eight years or 160,000 km.
