The Ministry of Health has decided to protect patients from risks associated with improper storage of medicines. The ministry is introducing round-the-clock digital control over the cold chain. The draft order was posted on the open regulatory legal acts portal. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
According to the document, automatic tracking devices will be introduced into the delivery system, allowing real-time temperature recording and accounting for the movement of vaccines from the warehouse to polyclinics.
“The main goal of the innovations is to strengthen control over compliance with the temperature regime at all stages of vaccine delivery and storage, from the receipt of medicines to their use in medical organizations,” the rationale says.
At the same time, it is proposed to improve the accounting and traceability of medicines, which will increase the transparency of their movement and the effectiveness of control at every stage.
The ministry notes that for Kazakhstanis the innovation is a guarantee that in the treatment room they or their children will receive a quality vaccination that has not spoiled on the way to the polyclinic.
The discussion of the draft will last until November 3, 2026.
Earlier, Kursiv wrote that more than 21,000 sensors and trackers on transport will monitor that vaccines do not spoil due to temperature violations. In addition, it was reported that GPS monitoring of special transport will operate during the transportation of vaccines.
Before that, the Ministry of Health tightened requirements for licensing medical activities in the country. Now state and private clinics will be able to operate only if they have an MCS.
