On the first day of the autumn holidays, Kazakhstan's Ministry of Education addressed parents of schoolchildren, asking them to remind their children about safety rules at home, on the street, and on the internet. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

The ministry reminded that autumn holidays in Kazakhstan will last from October 26 to November 1, 2026, inclusive, totaling seven days. Classes will resume on November 2, 2026.

«During the autumn holidays, children can spend time with their families, read, engage in sports and creative activities. Schools can offer events for meaningful leisure activities for children. Participation in them is voluntary. At the same time, the interests of children and family plans must be taken into account. The organization of such events should not create additional administrative burden on teachers or increase reporting. When organizing events, persons responsible for their conduct and the safety of children are determined in advance. Children's participation is coordinated with parents. During off-site events, it is necessary to ensure accompaniment by responsible adults,» the Ministry of Education noted.

The ministry also reported that about 2,900 additional education organizations operate in Kazakhstan. Art and music schools, palaces of schoolchildren, sports schools, and creative centers allow children to develop their abilities according to their interests, the ministry added.

Earlier, «Kursiv» wrote that the current academic year provides for three holiday periods: autumn holidays — from October 26 to November 1, 2026 (7 days); winter holidays — from December 28, 2026, to January 10, 2027 (14 days); and spring holidays — from March 22 to 28, 2027 (7 days).

In addition, first-grade students will have an additional rest period from February 8 to 14, 2027.

The Ministry of Education emphasizes the importance of children's safety during the holidays. Parents are advised to remind children of basic safety rules at home, on the street, and on the internet. Particular attention should be paid to online safety, as children spend more time on the internet during the holidays.

The ministry also noted that schools may organize events for children during the holidays, but participation is voluntary. When organizing such events, the interests of children and family plans must be taken into account. The organization of events should not create additional administrative burden on teachers or increase reporting.
