Minister of Education Zhuldyz Suleimenova made a warning regarding coming to school in a hijab. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to the minister, today the ministry has clear requirements for school uniforms. Suleimenova noted that students can attend classes in blue or black uniforms.
Earlier, some private schools allowed sitting in hijabs. However, the minister said that this practice has been discontinued this year.
"We have a unified uniform. Yes, last year there were such schools, including private ones. This new academic year, there are none," Suleimenova said at a government briefing.
In this regard, the minister warned that if cases of wearing hijab are recorded, measures such as revoking the school's license will be taken.
