Kazakhstan's Energy Minister announced a plan to supply 80% of the country with gas. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

According to the minister, the plan will be implemented by 2026. Currently, the level of gasification in the country is 60%. The new plan aims for a 20% increase.

To implement the plan, it is necessary to develop gas infrastructure, build new gas pipelines, and modernize existing networks. The minister noted that funds from the state budget will be allocated for these works.

The minister also stated that increasing gas supply will improve the quality of life for the population and the environmental situation. Gas availability will also boost industrial development.

Specific indicators and deadlines for the plan have not yet been clarified. The ministry is developing relevant documents.
