A plant for the repair, maintenance and restoration of mining equipment has been launched in Karaganda. The facility, opened by Central Asia Mining Services, will be able to service machinery from well-known brands Caterpillar, Epiroc, Sandvik and Volvo. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
Capabilities of the plant
Mining enterprises will be able to service their machinery at a local site, extending the service life of expensive equipment. The Central Asia Mining Services plant will work with machinery from leading manufacturers Caterpillar, Epiroc, Sandvik and Volvo, as well as supply original spare parts.
The enterprise has installed special diagnostic stands, and the team consists of trained specialists. This was reported by the regional akimat.
Market need
Plant director Sholpan Medelbekova noted that professional maintenance services for mining equipment are insufficiently developed in the market.
"There is a market need for a serious service company capable of closing the gap between expensive official dealer service and spontaneous private services and improving the operational efficiency of mining companies," Medelbekova said.
Training center
A training center, CAMS Training Center, will operate at the plant, where master classes and trainings for specialists will be held.
Company structure
Central Asia Mining Services, through another structure in the AIFC, belongs to the Singapore-registered holding Edmar International Holdings Pte. Ltd. Apparently, the holding is part of the Edmar Group structure, which belongs to millionaire Eduard Ogay (15th place in the Forbes Kazakhstan list, fortune – $650 million).
Several circumstances point to the connection between Central Asia Mining Services and Edmar Group: the first company is registered in the Edmar Group business center, and its head is also a director of Edmar Group.
