Alatau City Bank will early redeem bonds worth 125.3 billion tenge issued under banking sector support programs. The decision on partial early repayment of state aid was made by the bank's board of directors on June 29. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

This is the bank's third early payment to the state in recent years. In 2024, the financial institution returned 100 billion tenge, and in 2025 – another 50 billion tenge.

Chairman of the Board of Directors Kuat Kozhakhmetov said the decision was made possible by the bank's stable financial position and high level of capitalization.

Alatau City Bank is among the largest banks in the country. It ranks sixth in terms of assets and third in terms of equity capital among Kazakh banks.

According to the latest data, Alatau City Bank's current debt is 950.2 billion tenge. Thus, after the next tranche, the amount of debt to be repaid will decrease by 7.6% to 824.9 billion tenge.

Recall that in 2018 and 2019, the Problem Loan Fund purchased agricultural loans from Tsesna Bank (the old name of Alatau City Bank) for 1.05 trillion tenge. In addition, as part of the purchase of ATFBank (at the end of 2020), Jusan Bank (the previous name of Alatau City Bank) received 100 billion tenge from Samruk-Kazyna through the issuance of subordinated bonds.

Businessman Vyacheslav Kim acquired Alatau City Bank in July 2025. According to Forbes, the entrepreneur remains the richest person in Kazakhstan with a fortune of $7.8 billion.
