Minister of Tourism and Sports Yerbol Myrzabosynov explained the issue of awarding the title of Master of Sports to Olympic champion Mikhail Shaidorov. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
Earlier, Shaidorov stated that he had not received the title of Honored Master of Sports of Kazakhstan, despite fulfilling the necessary standards. According to the minister, the relevant order was signed long ago, but due to technical issues, the certificate could not be presented.
"Currently, Mikhail has received the insignia. However, due to his training in the USA, we could not officially present it. There are seven world championships ahead. We plan to present it at the very first one," Myrzabosynov said at a government briefing.
The minister noted that there is no misunderstanding between him and the Olympic champion. Shaidorov also mentioned that he had not received his salary for several months. The ministry explained that this was related to the preparation of a new contract.
