The Ministry of Tourism and Sports announced that the winner and another medalist of the Winter Olympic Games have received cash prizes. Coaches also received rewards along with the athletes. "The Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan adopted a resolution on awarding cash prizes to the winner of the XXV Winter Olympic Games in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo (Italy) in 2026, Mikhail Shaidorov (figure skating), and Nadezhda Morozova (speed skating), who entered the top six," the official statement said.
According to current legislation, Mikhail Shaidorov is entitled to $250,000, and Nadezhda Morozova to $5,000. "Cash prizes have been paid to the first, personal, and head coaches of the winning athletes," ministry officials said.
Additionally, Olympic medalists will receive further support from local executive bodies. Specifically, akimats will provide athletes with free apartments from the local municipal housing fund.
