One of three Kazakh women who were considered missing after a natural disaster in Nepal and Tibet has been found at home. It turned out that she had been in Kazakhstan all along. The fate of the other two women remains unknown, the Kazakh Foreign Ministry reported. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

Earlier, three female tourists were listed as missing: two in Nepal and one in China's Tibet Autonomous Region. Contact was established with one of the women who was presumably in Nepal.

"The whereabouts of our two other compatriots have not yet been established. Their relatives have undergone the necessary procedures for possible identification, including providing biological material for DNA analysis in accordance with the procedure determined by the competent authorities of Nepal and the PRC," said Zhambolat Usenov, official representative of the Kazakh Foreign Ministry.

According to the Nepalese side, the search and rescue operation in the country officially ended on October 5. Restoration work is now underway in the affected areas. The remains and personal belongings found are being handed over for subsequent identification.

In Tibet, the search continues in the worst-hit Gyirong County. The Chinese side is also carrying out identification of remains and genetic examination.

Kazakh diplomats are in contact with the families of the missing and are providing them with assistance. The Foreign Ministry keeps the situation under control.

Floods hit the border areas of Nepal and Tibet on August 26. According to AP, at least 1,455 people died in Nepal, and another 5,285 are listed as missing. On the Chinese side, 43 deaths have been confirmed, and the whereabouts of 519 people remain unknown.
